While this trailer doesn't show off anything of relevance in regards to the actual changes that the major update dubbed "A Realm Reborn" will provide for players, it certainly appears that political turmoil between fancy-looking creatures will remain intact in the once-janky online world of Final Fantasy XIV. Also, that narrator has an...uh...interesting voice.
Anyways, yeah, changes are afoot for Final Fantasy XIV. They run the gamut from a slick new graphics engine, a new map system, new client software, various tweaks to the battle system and much, much more.
At the very least, I will say that I applaud Square Enix for stepping up and continuing to amend the mistakes that they made after the disastrous launch of Final Fantasy XIV. As for the update itself, it should be heading to the PS3 sometime later this year. No word yet as to when it will relaunch on the PC though.
A place for video games, artistic expression, and just plain fun.
