What I really want to discuss, though, is the new name and logo for "Advanced Warfare."
The title, for what its worth, isn't exactly original, as there's been countless other games throughout the years that share a similar designation, such as Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter or Medal of Honor: Warfighter. I will say this though: despite an unoriginality to the name, I do think it logically makes sense as an evolution from the Modern Warfare franchise. The title may also draw inspiration from the fact that the "next-gen" consoles are a primary focus for this next entry in the long-running series.
There have been a few subtle modifications to the logo design as well. I would assume that the lines in the words "Call" and "Duty" reflect a more futuristic approach to the series, which is clearly evidenced in the trailer. I do like the stylistic choices for the "Advanced Warfare" font in regards to how the "V" and "W" flow naturally into the "A's" that follow them.
Despite having partaken in a drawn-out hiatus from this series in the past couple of years (since Modern Warfare 3 to be exact), this title very much has my attention. It is a brand new start for the developer Sledgehammer Games, as well as being their first independently created Call of Duty game. Let's hope for all the best to them.
