The "next generation" is almost upon us... for Sony and Microsoft, I mean.

In roughly a month's time, I will be salivating in the delightful aura that encompasses the act of opening a brand new video game console on release day. This console I speak of will be the PlayStation 4, as I, unfortunately, can only afford one piece of the "next-gen" pie this holiday season, and Sony has the edge for me when it comes to the price, power, and general vibe they've been upholding since the initial announcement of the hardware. Though I plan to pick up an Xbox One sometime in the far-flung future, as of now, I think I'll be perfectly content with owning one new console for the time being.

But man, that new Wii U Mario game looks quite awesome, too...
