Well now, who would've thunk Modern Warfare 3 would be getting the MW2 map "Terminal" for free

Activision must be feeling generous as of late, as not only are the content drops for Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops half-off for a week, but some free content for MW3 is coming in the form of the popular multiplayer map "Terminal" from MW2.

As with the introduction of the "Face-off" maps, this airport-themed death zone will be released free of charge for everyone, though Elite subscribers will be able to jump into the chaos one day early on July 17. Non-Elite folks will have to wait a staggering one day later on July 18 to partake in the plane-ridden insanity. Also, since Microsoft's exclusivity deal with Activison is still in effect, PS3 and PC players will unfortunately have to wait 30 days to access the map.

I hope this trend of free content continues with not only the Call of Duty series, but with other games in this industry as well. I mean, I'm all for paying for significant downloadable content with any game when it's well-made and priced fairly, but throwing in some free bonuses here and there for little things like an old map or something of that sort certainly doesn't hurt. And hey, it may also bring people back into your experience. Sounds like a winning combination to me.
