Don't act too surprised now, but it looks like one of the most popular maps in the Call of Duty series is being re-imagined as part of a promotional campaign for Black Ops 2.
Discovered by an IGN reader named Archie from the Irish retailer Xtravision, players who pre-order the game will receive a futuristic-sounding Nuketown 2025 free of charge. No word yet as to which stores or systems this offer will be made available to, but I'd say Gamestop and the Xbox 360 are safe bets at the very least.
As long as there's only one pre-order incentive, I'm perfectly fine with this. But if there are several bits of content scattered across various retailers, then I'll be pretty miffed. All those PR and publisher shenanigans just confuse the consumer rather than instill interest in your product. Have confidence that the game can stand on its own as opposed to relying on a bunch of shady ways to increase your earnings. At least attempt to garner more respect from the people who are actually buying your game. Heck, Call of Duty's map packs are already crazy expensive. Isn't that enough?
Oh yeah, I forgot; more money equals greater success. Please pardon my ignorance.....
