Details on Bungie's new game leaked thanks to the great foil that is the internet

What is Bungie's Destiny?

Didn't expect to see new details on Bungie's next project from rather mundane court case documents now did you? Well, the ongoing legal battle against Activision in the Zampella/West trial has let slip some very interesting information on not only Bungie's new IP, but also some of their other projects set to be released in the far-flung future.

As of right now, Bungie is said to be developing four "sci-fi, action shooter games" code-named "Destiny." The first title is scheduled to be released in the fall of 2013, with the next three games coming out every other year in the fall of 2015, 2017, and 2019, respectively. Not only that, but four expansions called "Comet" will also be coming out in-between each major release of Destiny in the fall of 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020. That's a whole lot of games.

According to the agreement, the first Destiny game will come out as a timed-exclusive on the Xbox 360 in the fall of 2013, as well as be released on the Xbox-successor referred to as the "Xbox 720," which is a temporary name I'm sure. A PS3 version might come out in the fall of 2014 if the system is deemed capable of providing the same quality experience as the Xbox 360 version. Weird I say. The Comet expansions will all be compatible with the Xbox 360, Xbox 720, PS4, and PC.

A sneak peak at Bungie's new universe.

All this business suit and tie craziness also mentioned a reboot of Marathon, Bungie's sci-fi shooter from the early 1990s. However, only 5% of the studio's staff will be assigned to the project at any given time. Interesting. Very, very interesting.

The only response given to the whole situation so far has been from Bungie's community manager DeeJ, who posted the following statement on their official website:

"So, yeah. While we’re not ready to show you what we’ve been working on, we can reconfirm that we are hard at work on our new universe. We can’t wait for you to see it."
"See you  starside  in 2013."

I would like to point out that all of these pen and paper agreements were made on April 2010, so some of these details might have changed over the past two years, as is the way of life. Also, the titles Destiny and Comet are merely code names for now, and none of this information has been technically "officially" announced yet. But that shouldn't stop people from speculating on all these fascinating developments.
