Wii U Rayman Legends trailer leaked demonstrating very interesting things

The French website Gamekult has posted a leaked trailer for a sequel to Rayman Origins called Rayman Legends.

While that information is interesting enough on its own, the footage also reveals some intriguing features about the Wii U console that I don't think we should know about yet.

Players can use either the standard Wii remote or the Wii U controller to play, and you can utilize touch screen features to manipulate objects in the world, such as moving platforms up and down.

The Wii U version also includes a Skylanders Portal of Power-like feature where you can place objects on the screen of the tablet controller to activate specific features. These include a heart power up and the ever-insane Rabbid characters appearing in the game with the use of the corresponding figurine. The trailer even teased an Assassin's Creed crossover with an Ezio figurine.

Oh yeah, and graphically it looks at the very least on par with the 360 and PS3, if that is so very important to you.

Nintendo is probably already on the prowl as to who leaked this trailer in the first place, as this information seems like the kind of stuff that would be unveiled at a major public event like, oh say, E3 maybe?

Update: Cue the damage control squad. Ubisoft has released the following statement in regards to Rayman Legends:

"An internal video showing images of Rayman Origins' sequel has leaked over the Internet. This video was intended as a purely internal demonstrative video, and in NO way represents the final game, the final console or their features. This video was destined for internal production teams who often create game prototypes with work in progress development kits. Ubisoft confirms the development of Rayman Legends handled by Michel Ancel and his team in Montpellier."
