So what I have I been up to lately? Well, currently the only game I've been messing around with is Fez on Xbox Live Arcade.
So what is "Fez" exactly? Fez a 2D platformer where you can turn the world in 90 degree increments, kind of making each area a four-sided cube of sorts. What this means is that despite having a 2D aesthetic and only being able to move from side to side, the game world is actually rendered in 3D. Does your brain hurt yet?
I've only played it for about an hour, but I'm really, really enjoying it so far. It's deceptively simple however, and despite being so early into the game, I know that there's more to this game than what meets the eye. Collecting pieces of golden cubes allows you to traverse new areas, but there are also very well hidden anti-cubes to net, which seem much, much harder to find and require a more "thinking outside the box" mindset. No pun intended.
I plan on reviewing Fez once I've collected everything in the game (determined not to use any FAQs). Soon I will post a review for Battlefield 3, mostly because I thought hey, I already reviewed Modern Warfare 3, so why not do the same for its blood-thirsty rival? I will also review one of my favorite games of this generation, Mass Effect 2, since I will be buying the third one soon and I wanted to get my thoughts on the second one out of the way before I wrap up the trilogy.
And that's pretty much it. Nothing more. Not saying anything else. Bye. See ya. Adios.
